CMPCT is a concept for a vacuum cleaner developed during the Industrial Prototyping course at Kolding School of Design. The idea emerged from research and user testing, revealing the challenges young people face with limited living space.
In response to the growing issue of limited housing, CMPCT introduces a collapsible and space-efficient design that adapts to modern urban lifestyles. The project involved form-giving explorations and iterative user testing.
This project seeks to inspire bolder and more innovative approaches in vacuum design, challenging the conventional solutions that we are used to seeing in the market. To demonstrate this idea, several explorations in form and proportion were conducted to achieve a minimal design with organic lines. The main features are intuitively assembled so that they are simple and easy to use.
The product was envisioned as a modular system composed of detachable segments, making it ideal to store in minimal spaces. Early prototypes were produced through 3D printing, while future iterations could be developed using plastic molding as a viable testing option.
