HI playground is an interactive experience that combines social and physical play, developed in collaboration with the Danish playground company Kompan in the context of my Master’s diploma project.
The concept uses light as a multifunctional play element, engaging children aged 7 to 12 in a tap and run game mechanic that can be played individually or with friends. This playground explores the intersection of play and technology, inspiring children to move, explore and stay active.
To address the lack of activities in urban spaces during the cold dark months in Europe, I conducted extensive research on the topic, including studies on child behavior, field observations, and a review of relevant academic literature.
The research highlighted the role of light as a design tool that can provide both interaction and safety. While collaborating hands-on with Kompan, the next steps focused on developing a viable product through iterative testing, sketching, and model-making.
